SHEFFIELD, England (November 13, 2022) – Canadian ice dancers Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha stepped on the podium for the second time this season on the ISU Grand Prix figure skating circuit finishing third Sunday at the MK John Wilson Trophy.

Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri of Italy, the winners at last week’s Grand Prix in France, took the gold again at this week’s fourth stop with 213.74. Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson of Great Britain were second at 205.56.

Lajoie, from Boucherville, Que., and Lagha, from St-Hubert, Que., followed at 198.95.  The 2019 world junior champions were less than four points off their international best set earlier this season in one of their two victories on the ISU Challenger circuit.

‘’We are happy with our four Grand Prix performances this season (two short and two free skates),’’ said Lajoie, a bronze medallist with her partner at Skate Canada International last month, their other Grand Prix assignment. ‘’There were some little errors but nothing too costly.’’

Alicia Fabbri of Terrebonne, Que., and Paul Ayer of Brossard, Que., were eighth and Haley Sales and Nikolas Wamsteeker of Langley, B.C., ninth.

Mai Mihara of Japan took the women’s gold with Isabeau Levito of the U.S. second and Anastasiia Gubanova of Georgia third.

Two-time Olympian Gabrielle Daleman of Newmarket, Ont., was eighth.

The fifth stop on the circuit is the NHK Trophy this Friday and Saturday in Sapporo, Japan.

SHEFFIELD, Angleterre (13 novembre 2022) – Dimanche, les danseurs sur glace canadiens Marjorie Lajoie et Zachary Lagha sont montés sur le podium pour la deuxième fois en saison sur le circuit du Grand Prix de patinage artistique de l’ISU après s’être classés troisièmes à l’épreuve MK John Wilson Trophy.

Avec un pointage de 213,74, Charlene Guignard et Marco Fabbri, d’Italie, gagnants du Grand Prix de la semaine dernière en France, ont de nouveau remporté l’or à ce quatrième arrêt qui avait lieu cette semaine. Lilah Fear et Lewis Gibson, de Grande-Bretagne, se sont classés deuxièmes avec 205,56 points.

Lajoie, de Boucherville (Québec), et Lagha, de St-Hubert (Québec), ont suivi avec 198,95 points. Les champions du monde juniors 2019 étaient à moins de quatre points de leur record international réalisé plus tôt cette saison à l’occasion d’une de leurs deux victoires sur le circuit Challenger de l’ISU.

« Nous sommes heureux de nos quatre performances en Grand Prix de la saison (deux programmes courts et deux programmes libres) », a déclaré Lajoie, médaillée de bronze avec son partenaire aux Internationaux Patinage Canada du mois dernier, leur autre participation au Grand Prix. « Nous avons fait quelques petites erreurs, mais rien de trop coûteux. »

Alicia Fabbri, de Terrebonne (Québec), et Paul Ayer, de Brossard (Québec), ont terminé huitièmes tandis que Haley Sales et Nikolas Wamsteeker, de Langley (Colombie-Britannique), se sont classés neuvièmes.

Mai Mihara, du Japon, a remporté l’or chez les femmes. Isabeau Levito, des États-Unis, a terminé deuxième et Anastasiia Gubanova, de Géorgie, troisième.

La double championne olympique Gabrielle Daleman, de Newmarket (Ontario), s’est classée huitième.
