CAAWS’s Women on Boards Program Launches New Presentations

Did you know that only 29% of all NSO board members are female?

In our ongoing work to increase women’s representation in sport decision-making CAAWS has developed two new presentations for Women on Boards, one with a focus on women and the other with a focus on organizations and boards.

Women Focus
This presentation provides motivating information on the value and importance of women on boards, strategies to navigate the challenges involved, as well as ideas to create your own personal leadership plan to take on a board role.

Organization/Board Focus
This presentation provides insightful information on how to create an inclusive board culture, value of women on your board and strategies to assist in overcoming some of the challenges and recruiting more women.

2017 WISE Fund Recipient Prepares to Take to the Court

In just over a month, Team Saskatchewan Volleyball will compete at the 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) in Toronto. The WISE Fund grant went towards helping the Team Saskatchewan U19 athletes begin their coaching certification process. By investing in their development as leaders and coaches, this effort not only expanded opportunities for these young women, it also helps them to use their passion and skills to create positive change in their communities through sport.

The North American Indigenous Games will take place from July 16th to the 23rd.
