Bowls Canada Boulingrin – Canadians Hirendra Bhartu (Nanaimo, British Columbia) and Pricilla Westlake (Delta, British Columbia) have finished the round robin play at the 2017 World Cup in Warilla, Australia. Bhartu and Westlake finished 5^th and 7^th in their groups respectively.

Hirendra started the tournament on a high note, winning four of his first five matches. Bhartu finished the event with eight wins and his only losses coming from those who finished ahead of him: Scotland, Australia, Malaysia and Jersey.

Pricilla struggled to get going once the tournament started, losing four of her first five matches before finally finding her way. Westlake turned it around to finish the tournament by winning four of her last six matches to bring her record to five wins and six losses. Westlake will now travel to Gold Coast, Australia where she will compete in the World Youth Championships from March 27^th to April 2^nd.  

Play continues at the World Cup as the men’s draw features teams from Scotland, Australia, Malaysia, South Africa and New Zealand all making it through to the knock-out rounds. On the women’s side, the knockout rounds will showcase teams from Australia, Guernsey, Scotland, Malaysia, Philippines and New Zealand. To qualify for the knock-out rounds, players needed to finish top three in their pool.
