Alberta’s best amateur adult soccer teams will battle for the Championship title at Senior Soccer Fest this weekend
Winners of the men’s Challenge Cup and women’s Jubilee Shield, which are comprised of teams from the Alberta Major Soccer League, will compete for a national title in Surrey, BC in October. Top teams in the Over-35 competitions, Masters Major and Classics Major, will qualify to attend the Western Masters and Classics Championships in Edmonton in late September.
“Much like the Youth Tier I to Nationals competitions that took place last weekend, Senior Soccer Fest is a feature event for senior teams in Alberta. The event represents the best of amateur soccer in Alberta – highlighting the teams’ success from the season and giving them an opportunity to be awarded the Provincial Championship title,” said Richard Adams, Alberta Soccer Executive Director. “We look forward to the high-level soccer that’s sure to take place, and wish all the teams a great weekend.”
All showcase games will take place on Monday, September 4th.
Media from across the province are welcome to cover the championships all weekend. Showcase games in Edmonton will be held at the Bill Gilhespy Soccer Complex. For full schedules and results, please visit competitions.albertasoccer.com
