The Archery Canada Board of Directors celebrated their members after the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on August 7, 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the meeting was held virtually and the awards were recognized on social media.

The announcements on social media saw Archery Canada recognize the outstanding contribution of volunteers in the archery community throughout the country in what has been a difficult year. A total of two (2) awards were given out, with two Presidential Citations also being awarded. The D.M. Lovo Award for contribution to the sport of archery in Canada

Rene Schaub has been awarded the D.M. Lovo Award for his outstanding long-term contribution to the sport of archery in Canada. He has been involved with the sport for more than 20 years, including bringing his first team to the Alberta Winter Games in 2002 and leading Team Canada at the World Championships in France in 2017. Rene has filled many roles in the sport, including judging, coaching and club management.

The Greg Durward Volunteer of the Year Award

Ron Ostermeier was awarded the Greg Durward Volunteer of the Year Award for his significant contribution to the development of archery in Canada. For over 40 years, he has been involved with BC Archery; he has been with the BC Winter Games for over 20 years. He has also served on the Archery Canada Coaching Committee and is a certified Master Coach Developer for Archery in the country.

Presidential Citations

Two Presidential citations were awarded to Dennis Colbourne and Lynne Durward at the discretion of Archery Canada’s President of Board of Directors. Dennis has stepped down after many years as Indoor Mailmatch Coordinator and Lynne has retired as Canadian MICA Coordinator.

Le conseil d’administration de Tir à l’Arc Canada a célébré ses membres après la conclusion de l’assemblée générale annuelle le 7 août 2021. En raison de la pandémie en cours, l’assemblée s’est tenue virtuellement et les prix ont été reconnus sur les médias sociaux.

Les annonces sur les médias sociaux ont vu Tir à l’Arc Canada reconnaître la contribution exceptionnelle des bénévoles dans la communauté de tir à l’arc partout au pays dans ce qui a été une année difficile. Au total, deux (2) prix ont été remis, deux citations présidentielles ont également été décernées. Le prix D.M. Lovo pour la contribution au sport du tir à l’arc au Canada

Rene Schaub a reçu le prix D.M. Lovo pour la contribution exceptionnelle à long-terme au sport du tir à l’arc au Canada. Il est impliqué dans le sport depuis plus de 20 ans, notamment en amenant sa première équipe aux Jeux d’hiver de l’Alberta en 2002 et en tête de l’équipe Canada aux championnats du monde en France en 2017. Rene a rempli de nombreux rôles dans le sport, y compris le rôle de juge, l’entraînement et la gestion du club.

Le prix Greg Durward du bénévole de l’année

Ron Ostermeier a reçu le prix Greg Durward du bénévole de l’année pour sa contribution significative au développement du tir à l’arc au Canada. Pendant plus de 40 années, il a été impliqué avec Archery C.-B.; il a collaboré aux Jeux d’hiver de la C.-B. pendant plus de 20 ans. Il a siégé au comité des entraîneurs de Tir à l’Arc Canada et est un maître entraîneur certifié pour le tir à l’arc au pays.

Citations présidentielles

Deux citations présidentielles ont été décernées à Dennis Colbourne et Lynne Durward à la discrétion du président de conseil d’administration de Tir à l’Arc Canada. Dennis a démissionné après de nombreuses années en tant que coordinateur de Match postal en salle et Lynne a pris sa retraite en tant que coordinatrice canadienne de CMIA.
