Swim Nova Scotia​ – Etobicoke, ON – Nicholas Bourbonniere of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club set new Nova Scotia Provincial Records in the 13-14 men’s 400m Freestyle today.  During preliminaries, he posted a time of 4:16.99, during the consolation finals he finished 16th overall with a time of 4:16.30, both under the Provincial Record that was set in 1978. 

Other top swims of the day included teammates Hanna Mountford who finished seventh in the women’s 13-15 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:25.22 and Madison Archer who finished tenth in the women’s 13-15 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:32.19.

This long course competition serves as an excellent racing and development opportunity for Youth and Junior competitors, and is held on the same weekend as the Speedo Western Championships.  There are 840 swimmers racing this weekend at the Eastern Championships, including 17 swimmers from various teams in Nova Scotia.

Competition continues through Sunday.
