Canadian Lacrosse Association – OTTAWA, ON (January 19, 2017) – The Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) is pleased to announce the addition of Adam McParland as Programs and Communications Intern, taking over for Scott Best.

Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Nipissing University in North Bay, Ont., before making the move to Ottawa, Ont. to enroll in the Sport Business Management graduate program at Algonquin College, where he recently began his second semester.

He joins the CLA after a fall internship with the Ottawa Youth Sport Expo, an event that introduces children and their parents to sport and fitness opportunities available in their community.

Adam was born in Canada but raised in Europe, spending his childhood in Switzerland and Germany, where his father played and coached professional hockey.

On a personal level, Adam has been heavily involved with the sport of hockey since returning to Canada, suiting up for junior teams across Northern Ontario, including the North Bay Trappers and Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks, while also volunteering with the men’s varsity team at Nipissing University and the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League.

As the Programs and Communications Intern with the CLA, Adam will have the opportunity to work on variety coaching, officiating, marketing, and communications projects over his term.

Please join us in welcoming Adam to the CLA office and to our greater lacrosse community. He can be reached by email at intern@lacrosse.ca.
