Football Manitoba – WINNIPEG, MB – Media members are advised of a high performance football tournament, the Elite Blue and Gold Games scheduled for 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (times subject to change based on game delays, weather cancellations etc.), SATURDAY, MAY 13^th, 2017 at the Investors Group Field, located in the University of Manitoba campus, 315 Chancellor Matheson Road.

The event is being hosted by Football Manitoba in partnership with Elite Performance and will include local elite talent in the U-16 and U-18 age groups. Teams included are; U-16 Manitoba; U-16 Thunder Bay; U-18 Manitoba; U-18 Thunder Bay; Winnipeg High School Football League Senior Bowl Teams; Rural Manitoba All Star South; and Rural Manitoba All Star North. A total of four games will be played throughout the day. These athletes are the next crop of up and coming stars with aspirations of going pro.

The annual event highlights the Province’s and Northwestern Ontario’s best Tackle Football Athletes in the U16 and U18 age groups. The full day can play host to a variety of leagues and levels of competition. The primary focus is to create a platform and environment for our athletes from the Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba regions to compete and challenge for gold at National Tournaments, representing Manitoba.

Annually the U16 and U18 programs from both Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba compete at the EL1TE Blue and Gold Games as a precursor to the U18 Football Canada Cup and the U16 Western Regional Cup. The event has also hosted games such as The Winnipeg Highschool Football League (WHSFL) Senior Bowl and The Rural Manitoba Football League’s (RMFL) All Stars.
