Softball Canada – (Ottawa, ON) Starting in January of 2017, Softball Canada will have a series of one to three day identification camps across Canada. Athletes born between the years of 1999-2003 are invited to register to attend any of the ID camps listed below. The Junior Men’s National Team Coaching staff will operate the camps with the help of area National Team players and/or Guest Coaches. Each player will be evaluated on fitness levels, speed, throwing, hitting, defensive play and general softball game play. There may be intrasquad games at the Regional camps and/or game situation play at any of the camps.

The registration fee is $50 per player to attend a one day Provincial Camp and $100 to attend a two to three day Regional Camp.

A minimum of 10 athletes are needed to operate the Provincial Camps, while a minimum of 25 athletes are required to operate the Regional Camps. The registration deadline will be 14 days prior to the start of each camp. If there are not enough registrants, a full refund will be offered, or players are welcome to transfer to another location.

Regional Camps

There will be three Regional camps held in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario in May/June. Dates and locations will be determined early in 2017 and registration for the Regional Camps will be set up once the dates and locations are confirmed.

Up to 26 athletes will be selected to attend the final selection camp in Prince Edward Island following the U18 Men’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship, from August 21-25. From that camp, the team of 17 players will be chosen to represent Canada at the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s World Softball Championship from July 7-15 in Prince Albert, SK.
