Gymnastics Canada – OTTAWA, ON (March 8, 2017) – Gymnastics Canada is pleased to announce the names of the junior and senior women’s artistic gymnasts set to compete at the 2017 International Gymnix competition in Montreal, Quebec from March 10th to 12th.

More than 900 athletes from more than 15 countries around the world will compete at the event which is a perfect opportunity for the best athletes in Canada and the world to prepare for the 2017 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships which will also take place in Montreal this October.

Rio 2016 Olympians Ellie Black of Halifax, NS, Shallon Olsen of Surrey, BC, Brittany Rogers of Calgary, AB, Rose-Kaying Woo of Brossard, QC, and Isabela Onyshko of Brandon, MB will also take part in a Q&A session on Friday evening as part of the Senior International Cup. Black is an ambassador for the event, while Olsen, Rogers, and Woo will all compete over the weekend.

“The 2017 International Gymnix is the first international competition for our athletes in this new Olympic Cycle. We are working to develop a number of talented athletes and this competition is a tremendous event because it allows us to provide opportunities for a number of our athletes against some excellent teams, yet in a friendly competition atmosphere,” said Dave Brubaker, National Team Director for women’s artistic gymnastics (WAG) at Gymnastics Canada. “We have held an excellent training camp in advance of the competition and are excited about our future as we get started on our plan for the next 3 years.”
