Volleyball Canada – The Canadian men’s volleyball team is gearing up for a challenging FIVB World League season. It is the team’s first time in Group 1 of this prestigious international tournament.

“It is an important step for Canada and we look forward to testing our players against the best teams in the world,” said Canada’s head coach, Stephane Antiga. “The next three weekends will give us some crucial information as we begin the drive toward qualifying for Tokyo 2020.”

Last year, Canada won Group 2 after a dominant run ending with Canada defeating Portugal in the final. The team then capped off the season with a fifth-place at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

This year’s travelling roster features six 2016 Olympians, and several new additions to the senior A squad. The team will face such powerful volleyball nations as the U.S., Poland, Italy, Brazil and France, among others.
