Canada Games Activity Challenge Announces Grand Prize Winners
Canada Games Council – At the end of the three-month Canada Games Activity Challenge, 13 students who participated in the Canada Games Activity Challenge have won a FREE TRIP to the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg. Prize winners were randomly drawn from every Province and Territory. Congratulations to these lucky winners:

The Canada Games Activity Chalenge grand prize, managed by American Express Global Business Travel, is a free trip to the Canada Summer Games. 13 students who have participated in the Activity Challenge, along with a parent/guardian, have won free airfare, accommodations and tickets to attend medal round games and the Closing Ceremony of the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg; the 50th anniversary Canada Games.
“The Canada Games Activity Challenge was a great success and we’re thrilled that so many students from across the nation took on the Challenge,” said Tom Quinn, Canada Games Council Chairman. “Congratulations to the lucky 13 winners of our Grand Prize. They will get to take in our golden anniversary Games in large part thanks to the support of our sponsors including American Express Global Business Travel.
Registration for the Canada Games Activity Challenge, a Canada 150 signature project, and a Canada Games 50th Anniversary celebratory program, opened November 16, 2016 and the challenge was launched February 13, 2017. Over 3,500 school champions (teachers and principals) registered for Phase 1 of the Activity Challenge, with an estimated reach of 182,000 children across Canada.Phase 3 of the Canada Games Activity Challenge ended at the end of May 2017.
The Canada Games Activity Challenge is a fun, free and interactive program designed to help children ages 5 – 12 build daily and active habits. The Activity Challenge is aimed at inspiring the 90% of youth that are not currently meeting the recommended daily amount of physical activity, and empowers elementary teachers with a database of age-appropriate and skill-specific activities, linked to Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. The program is inclusive and adaptive, with rewards for kids along the way and The Canada Games Activityuses gamification and interactivity principles to motivate students to participate daily in habit forming physical activity.
