Bronze for J. Hannah at Eastern Canadian Swimming Open
Swim Nova Scotia – Etobicoke, ON – 17 of Nova Scotia’s top swimmers began competition today at the 2017 Speedo Eastern Championships in Etobicoke at the Etobicoke Olympium.
Madison Archer of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club was Nova Scotia’s top finisher of the day; she earned herself a bronze medal tonight in the women’s 13-15 800m Freestyle with a personal best time of 9:11.56. Teammate, Nicholas Bourbonniere set a new Nova Scotia Provincial Record during the preliminaries of the men’s 200m Freestyle with a lifetime best time of 2:00.02.
This long course competition serves as an excellent racing and development opportunity for Youth and Junior competitors, and is held on the same weekend as the Speedo Western Championships. There are 840 swimmers racing this weekend at the Eastern Championships.
