U Sports – TORONTO (U Sports) – Danica Ludlow from the University of Calgary and Kendrik Jolin from McGill University are the ArcelorMittal Dofasco U Sports female and male athletes of the week for the period ending November 27.

Ludlow, a first-year arts student from Victoria, B.C., won six medals over the weekend – three individual gold along with three relay medals. The Dinos rookie was named Swimmer of the Meet after finishing in first place in the 200-metre, 400-metre, and 800-metre freestyle, while also adding a silver medal in the 4×100 medley relay and bronze in the 400-metre and 800-metre freestyle relays for the Dinos.

StFX hockey player Kara Power along with basketball players Maude Archambault from Bishop’s, and Danielle Boiago from McMaster were also nominated for the women’s award.

Jolin, a first-year arts student from Pointe-Claire, Que., scored a total of 47 points in the Redmen’s two victories over Concordia and Bishop’s. In the game against the Gaiters, the McGill rookie tallied a game-high 34-point, to go along with two assists and five steals, helping the Redmen to a 81-73 win. Over the two games, the 19-year old shot 70 per cent from the floor, including 69.2% from three-point range.

 UBC swimmer Keegan Zanatta, Acadia hockey goaltender Robert Steeves, and basketball player Connor Wood from Carleton were also nominated for the men’s honour.
