Annual Baseball Grand Slam Jamboree Plans to be a Home Run!
Baseball Manitoba – Winnipeg – On Saturday, June 17, twelve teams of youth baseball players will take over Shaw Park in Baseball Manitoba’s Annual Grand Slam Jamboree. These teams, representing regions throughout Manitoba and comprised of players 9 and under, will use a Pitching Machine as a pitcher, as they play on three mini-fields set up in the Shaw Park outfield. Grand Slam Baseball is an entry level for the sport, and the Jamboree brings a close to the season.
The Grand Slam Jamboree promotes a high level of fun activity in a safe learning environment to encourage the love of the game of baseball. The Jamboree is participatory in nature, as the teams will play in the early part of the day prior to the Winnipeg Goldeyes game that evening.
The participating teams were selected through random draws conducted at regional Grand Slam Jamborees held in June throughout Manitoba. This event is made possible in part through the support of the Winnipeg Goldeyes, Home Run Sports, Awards and More, and Sport Manitoba.
Games start at 8:45 a.m. and the event will be completed by 1:00 p.m.
