2017 Canada Summer Games – WINNIPEG (June 19, 2017) – The 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society and Co-Hosts today announced they have signed an agreement with the University of Manitoba, making Winnipeg’s largest post-secondary campus a key venue of the 2017 Games.

Under the terms of the agreement, the University of Manitoba will grant the 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society access to several buildings and facilities that will operate as competition venues, Athletes’ village, the Polyclinic/Infirmary, and offices for mission staff from each province and territory. Games organizers will also have access to space on-campus for various games operations.

According to Jeff Hnatiuk, President and CEO of the Games Host Society, the University of Manitoba will truly be a hub during the 2017 Canada Summer Games. “We’ve promised to offer athletes a high-quality competition experience in Winnipeg. The partnership with the University of Manitoba will help us deliver on that promise. Athletes, coaches and mission staff will have access to first-rate campus sports facilities, residences, and offices.”
