A True Sport Journey: Gymnastics Canada’s new Values-Based Coaching Module

  In case you missed it, Gymnastics Canada’s (GymCan) True Sport journey was recently profiled in the Sport Information Resource Centre’s (SIRC) blog. The blog explores GymCan’s new Values-Based Coaching Module designed to support their coaches in bringing the True Sport Principles into practice.

Over the last few years, GymCan has been building the True Sport Principles into the foundation of their sport. The organization believes embedding values and principles into the practice of gymnastics will help create champions, not only in the sense of medals, but in the sense of individuals that lead productive and positive lives and contribute to society.Read the full blog.

As part of their journey, GymCan participated in a True Sport Activation Workshop. This workshop is available to national sport organizations who, like GymCan, recognize that True Sport is an important element in their prevention strategy to guard against the many threats to sport, including those related to safe sport. If you would like to activate or re-invigorate your organization’s commitment to True Sport, please email info@truesportpur.ca to discuss your True Sport journey.
