Montreal – April 21st, 2022. Following the selection of the Elite National Team, Boxing Canada is proud to reveal the athletes selected to the 2022-23 Youth National Team. An alternative selection process was created to nominate and select athletes to the Youth National Team given the cancellation of the last three editions of the Canadian Championships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


After in-depth evaluations completed by the National Panel of Experts, the following athletes were selected to the Youth National Team and ranked according to the process outlined in the 2022-23 National Team Selection Procedures.

“After two years without a youth team, we are happy that a team could be selected this year,” stated Roy Halpin, Boxing Canada’s Executive Director. “These young boxers worked hard to overcome the challenges brought on by the pandemic, and we look forward to seeing them develop over the course of the next year.”


Opportunities have been identified for these athletes with the goals of developing their experience in international competitions and preparing them to make up the next generation of Elite boxers in Canada. The boxers will have their first chance to represent Canada in June at the Bornemissza Youth & Junior Memorial Tournament in Eger, Hungary.

Montréal – 21 avril 2022. Suite à la sélection de l’Équipe nationale élite, Boxe Canada est fier de dévoiler les athlètes sélectionnés au sein de l’Équipe nationale jeunesse 2022-23. Étant donné l’annulation des trois dernières éditions des Championnats canadiens en raison de la pandémie de COVID-19, un processus alternatif a été créé afin de nominer et sélectionner les athlètes pour l’Équipe nationale jeunesse.


Après des évaluations approfondies par le Panel national d’expert(e)s, les athlètes suivants ont été sélectionnés au sein de l’Équipe nationale jeunesse et classés selon le processus souligné dans les Procédures de sélection de l’Équipe nationale 2022-23.

Des opportunités ont été identifiées pour ces athlètes dans les buts de développer leurs expériences au niveau international et de les préparer en tant que la prochaine génération de boxeurs élites au Canada. Les boxeurs auront leur première chance à représenter le Canada en juin au Tournoi commémoratif Bornemissza de niveaux jeunesse et junior à Eger, en Hongrie.
