Montréal, October 17, 2022 – Six clubs from four different provinces are the first recipients of Judo Canada’s newest bursary program: 2022-2023 LTD Promotion.

The new funding, which aligns with the organization’s long-term athlete development model for Canadian judo and Canadian judokas at the local/grassroots level, will make a positive difference for athletes and organizations across the country.

“For many years, we’ve been seeking ways to facilitate and encourage the implementation of our guidelines at the club level,” explained Judo Canada’s CEO and High Performance Director, Nicolas Gill.

“This program and this funding are very timely in terms of our strategic plan. Increasing the participation of girls and implementing our new tournament rules are crucial to building a solid foundation for the future. We hope this announcement will entice other clubs to partner with us.”
