Volleyball Canada – July 13, 2018: Canada’s national women’s sitting volleyball team will participate in the 2018 World Paravolley Sitting Volleyball World Championships, July 15 to 22.

The championship will take place in the Netherlands in Arnhem, Rotterdam, Venlo, Eindhoven and The Hague. The city of Arnhem will host the women’s preliminary round matches from July 15-17, before teams travel for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals from July 19 to 21.

The women’s team will play in three preliminary matches July 15 to 17 in Arnhem against Rwanda, Croatia, and host Netherlands, which will determine the top two teams from each pool to advance on to the quarterfinals in Rotterdam July 18-21.

“The major focus of our recent preparation for the World Championships was to solidify our individual and team tactics, thus improving our ability to continue rallies and manage our game,” said women’s sitting volleyball head coach, Nicole Ban. “Our everyday training has provided us with the confidence needed to compete and execute in pressure-filled situations. We have set our standards high and are looking to advance to the quarterfinals. We know that we must take each match one at a time so now we shift our focus to our first competitor, Rwanda, who we last saw at the Rio Paralympics.”
