Golf Manitoba – Would you like to learn about the Rules of Golf? Golf Manitoba is once again offering Winter Rules Sessions for those who want to learn more. No prior knowledge is required, just come and learn in a relaxed setting with those of a similar interest. The sessions are from 7:00 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. Public welcome!
- January 13 – Breezy Bend Country Club
- February 10 – Sport Manitoba, Theatre (lower level)
- March 16 – Glendale Country Club
- April 6 – Southwood Golf & Country Club
Please email the Golf Manitoba office at email@example.com to rsvp your attendance. The sessions are free for all that attend.
There will be a slight change to the format this year with approximately 1/3 of the time being spent on a rules presentation, 1/3 of the time on working through actual golf hole scenarios to see how rules apply in certain situations and the remaining 1/3 of the time answering any questions that are asked by the attendees verbally or in writing. Please feel free to email Golf Manitoba with any rules questions up to the day before the rules session.
These will be “no pressure” seminars and attendees can participate as much as they want or they can sit back and just listen.
The presentation portion of the seminars will be:
January 13 – “Anchors Away – What you Need to Know about the New Rules and Decisions Effective January 1, 2016 Including the Ban on Anchoring”
February 10 – “What a Stupid Rule – A review of the Principles Behind the Rules of Golf and How They Apply Today”
March 16 – “I Wish I Knew That – The Most Common Rules that You Will Face and How Knowing Them Can Help Your Score”
April 6 – “Rules in Review – Getting You Ready for the New Season”
