Alpine Canada – Alpine Races

The women’s speed circuit is back in action again this weekend, racing in Crans Montana, Switzerland. Canada’s Larisa Yurkiw (Team Larisa), narrowly missed out on her fourth podium of the season in last weekend’s downhill. Yurkiw holds her second-place overall downhill ranking on the FIS World Cup leaderboard. Sunday will see an alpine combined race. 

The cancelled Maribor, Slovenia women’s slalom has been rescheduled for Monday, February 15 and will also take place in Crans Montana, Switzerland. 

The men’s tech teams are in Yuzawa Naeba, Japan for a giant slalom race Saturday and a slalom race Sunday. Calgary, Alta.’s Trevor Philp has had two personal best technical finishes this year and will be looking to gain more World Cup points.

Ski Cross Races

The Canada Ski Cross Team is back in action this weekend, including a strong contingent from the Canadian development team looking to gain valuable World Cup experience. Kelsey Serwa, Marielle Thompson, Brady Leman and Chris Del Bosco are all coming off podium-finishes at the X Games two weeks ago. The team is in Idre, Sweden for back-to-back races Saturday and Sunday. Thompson heads into the weekend sitting third in the overall rankings. Leman heads into the weekend sitting in second-place overall with Del Bosco right behind him in third-place.
