Waterloo Region’s Canada Games Bid Committee Leaders to Rally with Mayors and School Children Wednesday Feb.1 at Noon
Waterloo Region’s 2021 Canada Games Bid – Leaders of Waterloo Region’s 2021 Canada Games Bid will be joined by the Mayors of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge for a unique pep rally with the children at St. John Elementary Catholic School from 12 -1 pm on Wednesday February 1st.
They will be celebrating the Waterloo Region’s official bid submission, which was made in person in Ottawa on January 31st. As well, the bid committee will be providing details about venues and the major legacy opportunities for people in the region.
With the bid officially submitted, the focus is now on showing the Canada Games Evaluation Committee that we are behind the Games and ready to host. The Evaluation Committee will visit Waterloo Region on February 28 and community support is expected to play a key role in the ultimate decision with Ottawa, Sudbury and the Niagara Region also in the running.
