Volleyball Canada – May 18, 2016: The 2016 Volleyball Canada Championships enters its third and final weekend with events in Regina (15 West), Calgary (16 U West) and again in Waterloo, Ontario (16 U East).

A total of 915 teams were registered in all the Championship events throughout the month of May. This coming weekend Volleyball Canada will host 31 boys’ and 87 girls’ teams in Regina at Evraz Place; 29 boys’ and  80 girls’ teams in Waterloo at RIM Park; and 44 boys’ and 93 girls’ teams at the University of Calgary.

“We have been pleased with how the tournaments have progressed so far, and we’re looking forward to another great weekend of competition,” said Sandra de Graaff, Volleyball Canada’s Director of Domestic Competition. “Moving into the final stretch for 2016, we hope that a lot of participants the take time to fill out our event survey to give us valuable feedback to make future events even more memorable.”

Unlike 2015, which was a year that the Volleyball Canada Championship was held in one city, this year and 2017 will see the youth tournaments in various locations across the country.  All host cities went through a bidding process, and were chosen for meeting the criteria set out by Volleyball Canada.  In 2018, Edmonton will host the next Championship to be held in one location.
