Rugby Nova Scotia, in conjunction with Rugby Quebec and Rugby Ontario, is delighted to announce the hosting of the Eastern Canada Championship for U20 women’s teams.

The championship will create a development opportunity for U20 athletes and give them the chance to be nationally identified by Rugby Canada.

Rugby Canada U20 head coach, Jen Boyd will be attending the event in Windsor and had this to say,

“I am excited to get to Windsor, NS to watch the U20 competition. For the first time, QC is able to field a U20W team – the game continues to grow. The potential candidates for the U20 Can-Am Series at the end of the month is promising. With a strong core of returning players, I am looking forward to find depth to the program. With several U18 athletes graduating from the U18 program, I know I will find a few next week in NS.”

The tournament will have warm up games between July 11th-13th. Then, each province will then play a single round robin resulting in a gold medal winner on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 14th – 16th).

The Nova Scotia U20 team will be once again coached by Amber Davison who is looking forward to the challenge of the eastern rivals.

“This is a great challenge for our girls, playing against some of the best players in Canada. They all feel they have a point to prove and being at home is such a bonus. We are excited to showcase some East coast talent and encourage all of the Maritime rugby community to come out and support the home team.”
