Swim Nova Scotia – Calgary, AB– 14-year-old Jade Hannah of the Halifax Trojan Aquatic Club earned two gold medals during day one of competition at the 2016 Canadian Age Group National Championships in Calgary at the Talisman Centre.

Hannah finished first in the 14-year-old women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:16.90 and in the 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:01.56.

Approximately 750 young swimmers from across Canada will be competing at Talisman Centre from July 27-August 1^st at the Canadian Age Group Championships. There are a total of 20 swimmers from across Nova Scotia competing in the event.

This meet is designed to give swimmers ages 12 through 18 the opportunity to race against the best athletes in their age group across Canada.

Pool action will continue through July 31^st with daily competition starting at 9:00am local time for preliminaries and 5:30pm local time for finals. The open water events start at 9am August 1^st; race distances include 2.5km and 5km.
