TWENTY-FOURTH ANNUAL MOTH HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TO PROMOTE ACTIVE LIVING AND SPORT INVOLVEMENT FOR OTTAWA’S DISADVANTAGED KIDS
KidSport Ottawa – Ottawa, Ontario, December 29, 2015: KidSport™ Ottawa will be hosting the 24th annual MOTH (Montreal, Ottawa Toronto, Hockey) tournament. Men’s and Women’s non-contact hockey tournament. Teams from Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and the surrounding area are invited to join in the fun in support of KidSport™ Ottawa. Teams are guaranteed 3 games. There will be five divisions for 2016;
- Original 6 (teams that have been participating for over 10 years)
- Men’s A
- Men’s B
- Women’s A
- Women’s B
Men’s and Women’s non-contact hockey teams are invited to register and participate. EVERYONE can come out to raise funds, increase their community profile and cheer on the teams. In order to raise additional funds, teams are encouraged to participate in the charity raffle being held in conjunction with the tournament.
WHERE: Minto Recreation Centre
WHEN: Thursday April 28 – Saturday April 30, 2014 (all Thursday & Friday games will be held in the evening, and accommodations will be made for traveling teams to begin play Friday evening). Early-bird registration deadline (teams will receive tournament T-shirts if registered by this date): March 1, 2016. Formal deadline to register: March 31st , 2016.
WHY: KidSport Ottawa is committed to helping kids break through the barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. Through monetary support from the community of Ottawa, we will be able to increase accessibility for children and youth to participate in sport, and to move towards ensuring that all social and economic barriers preventing or limiting participation in organized sport are lifted.
COST: $850/team by March 1st or $900 until March 31st (includes 3 games guaranteed)
