Swim Nova Scotia – Edmonton, AB- 15 of Nova Scotia’s top swimmers are now competing at the 2016 Canadian Swimming Championships in Edmonton, Alberta. The competition is taking place at the Kinsmen Sports Center through to Sunday August 7^th.

Halifax Trojan swimmers Jade Hannah and Sarah Polley earned themselves spots in the A finals during the first day of competition; Jade finished sixth in the women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:17.56, while teammate Sarah Polley finished seventh in the same event with a 2:17.78.  Sarah also finished seventh in the women’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 26.65.

The Canadian Swimming Championships are a senior national championship meet.  This is a high-level meet that features Canada’s top swimmers competing alongside the next generation of young swimmers.

Prelims begin at 10:00am daily and finals will begin at 6:00pm local time.
