Swim Nova Scotia – Toronto, ON– Halifax Trojan swimmer, Madison Archer was one of Nova Scotia’s top swimmers during the third day of competition at the RBC Canadian Junior Swimming Championships. Archer finished in seventh place in the 15-17 women’s 800m Freestyle with a lifetime best time of 9:10.26.  Teammate Isabelle Dearnaley earned herself a second swim in the women’s 13-14 200m Butterfly consolation final with a personal best time of 2:30.00, where she finished fourteenth. 

Madison Bond of the Truro Centurions Swim Club was also among Nova Scotia’s top swimmers of the day.  Bond earned a second swim in the 13-14 women’s 100m Breaststroke consolation final with a seventeenth-place finish with a personal best time of 1:17.41.

500 young swimmers from across Canada are competing at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre. Five teams from across Nova Scotia are represented by 12 swimmers, who have all been named to Swim Nova Scotia’s 2017 Canada Games Swim Team.

Pool action continues daily through Sunday, with competition starting at 9:00am local time for preliminaries and 5:30pm local time for finals.  The open water events start at 9am July 31st; race distances include 2.5km and 5km.
