Skate Canada Manitoba – WINNIPEG, MB.  November 7, 2016 – This past weekend, Manitoba’s newest figure skating team was identified at the 2017 Skate Canada Manitoba Sectional Championship, held at the Access Event Centre, in Morden, MB.  Manitoba’s top skaters competed for a spot to represent Manitoba at the 2017 Skate Canada Challenge Competition in Pierrefonds (Montreal), Quebec. In Pierrefonds, Manitoba’s skaters will compete against the rest of the country’s best skaters at the 2017 Skate Canada Challenge. The events will run from November 30th — December 4th, 2016. The competition will feature Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior and Senior level skaters in Men’s, Women’s, Pairs and Ice Dance. Approximately 500 skaters from across the country will compete at this flagship event.

 Manitoba’s top skaters have qualified through the 2017 Skate Canada Sectional Manitoba Championships. This is the only opportunity for Novice, Junior and Senior skaters to qualify for the 2017 Canadian Tire Figure Skating Championships, in Ottawa, Ontario, from January 16-22, 2017.
