Nova Scotia Golf Association – Tom Banks from the Paragon Golf Club captured his first NSGA Senior Men’s Championship yesterday at the Eden Golf Club. He rallied from behind during the final round and fired a three day total of 71-75-77-223 to win by one stroke over three other competitors.  

The other competitors included three former NSGA Senior Champions. Gerry MacMillan from Paragon who has won two Senior Championship (2011 & 2012), along with defending Champion Mike Hebb (2013 & 2015) and 2014 Champion Ernie Sheaves. All three former champions finished with a three day total of 224.

The NSGA will be fielding  a team to compete in the 2016 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship. After Gerry MacMillan and Mike Hebb declined to compete in the  upcoming Canadian Championship the team representing Nova Scotia will be made up of Tom Banks, Ernie Sheaves, Gary Smith and James MacLeod who will competing as the alternate. The team will travel to the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Niagara Falls, ON on September 6-9 to compete in the Canadian Senior Men’s Championship. 

In addition to the above team the NSGA is please to announce that Glibert Ross has been selected to compete as a Super Senior in the 2016 Canadian Senior Championship. This position has been funded by Dr. Ryan Thomas Dentistry. 

Shot of the Day: 2005 Men’s Senior Champion Adrian deGraaf fired an ace on number 17. He used a 7 iron on the 145 yard par 3. This is deGraaf’s third hole-in-one.
