Alpine Canada – Calgary, Alta. (February 12, 2017) – The Canada Ski Cross Team found redemption in the second of two races this weekend in Idre Fjäll (SWE) with Whistler’s Marielle Thompson and Calgary’s Brady Leman standing on top of the podium! It was another day of tight heats, lots of passing and big air, and Thompson and Leman led the way all day.

The women’s final was a stacked heat with each athlete having at least one World Cup podium this season. Thompson led the final heat all the way down, making the win look easy. ‘Big Air Mar’ was back on the ski cross track today in her usual form.

Leman pulled out of the gate and was leading into the first turn, extending his lead through the turny section of the course. Leman held his lead all the way to the finish and takes his first win since 2012! Leman will take this momentum into the end of the season at home for World Cup Finals at Blue Mountain and the World Championships in Spain.

Both Dave Duncan and Brittany Phelan made it through to the small final where they finished 7th and 8th respectively for a total of four top ten finishes from the Canada Ski Cross Team.

The team now has two weeks off before their next race.
