Special Olympics Québec – Montreal, June 17, 2016 – The 2016 Special Olympics Québec Festival held Wednesday at the Palais des congrès de Montréal raised the net sum of $400 167 for Special Olympics Québec.

Held under the honorary presidency of Mr.  Pierre Laporte, president Québec, vice president Deloitte LLP, this prestigious event brought together more than 500 guests from Montreal’s business community as well as several sports celebrities including Joannie Rochette, Gilbert Delorme, France St-Louis, Réjean Houle and Yvon Lambert, who was the auctioneer for the evening. Our ambassador Alexandre Bilodeau was also in attendance along with several of our special athletes. 

With social inclusion as its main theme, the 2016 Festival owes its success to the valuable support of the business community and of numerous partners as well as to the outstanding work of our Board of Governors and of all our volunteers. The funds raised will enable us to continue to offer our training and competition programs which foster the development, quality of life, inclusion and social participation of children, teenagers and adults with an intellectual disability.

The success of this year’s Special Olympics Québec Festival was made possible through the generosity of our partners, namely the Club de hockey Canadien, evenko, FGL Sports, Hydro-Québec, SAQ and Témoin production.
