Ontario Soccer – Vaughan, ON – Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce today that Respect in Sport will be the presenting partner of the Ontario Soccer Summit 2018.

Respect in Sport, which is the best-in-class e-learning platform for abuse, harassment and bullying education, is the brain child of Sheldon Kennedy and Wayne McNeil.

Kennedy, a former NHL player, who spoke out about his own experiences with abuse, sees the Ontario Soccer Summit as the perfect platform for the Respect in Sport message.

“Ontario Soccer has already embraced the Respect in Sport certifications, through their work on the Activity Leader / Coach program, as well as the Parent Program pilot,” said Kennedy. “The Ontario Soccer Summit offers yet another opportunity to bring our message of abuse prevention to those who make decisions in sport.”

Kennedy, who was a keynote speaker at last year’s Ontario Soccer Summit, will once again be present at this year’s event to deliver their key messages and connect with the Ontario Soccer community.

Five other brands have also signed on as partners of the Ontario Soccer Summit 2018.

Bownet (Official Portable Goal Partner), Rescue 7 (Official Health and Safety Education Partner), Academy Soccer Coach (Official Online Coach Education Partner), Nothers Signs and Recognition (Official Awards and Recognition and Promotion Product Partner) and InspireSport (Official Soccer Tour Operator) will all be involved with the Ontario Soccer Summit 2018.

“Ontario Soccer is the gateway to the grassroots and the Ontario Soccer Summit is one of the vehicles we use to drive your brand’s messaging and awareness,” said Bjorn Osieck, Director of Business Operations. “The Ontario Soccer Summit has shown to be an excellent platform for brands, from across the region, to connect with members of our soccer community.”
