Canadian Paralympic Committee – OTTAWA, June 8, 2016 – The Canadian Paralympic Committee is pleased to issue the following statement of congratulations to the TORONTO 2015 Organizing Committee following the Auditor General of Ontario’s recent audit.

“Looking back at the TORONTO 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games, it is clear that these Games were a tremendous success and a catalyst at all levels.
Highlights include the world-class accessible facilities now benefiting host communities, the unprecedented integration of the Pan Am and Parapan American Games, and the strengthened provincial sport system legacy and partnerships forged.

We also applaud the enhanced awareness of high performance parasport as a result of the world-leading television broadcast by CBC/Radio-Canada, which was unprecedented for a Pan/Parapan American Games.

We are proud that the province of Ontario successfully hosted these phenomenal Games, providing inspiration to the next generation of athletes and coaches, as well as a valuable stepping stone towards the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and beyond.

I would like to convey our congratulations to the TORONTO 2015 organizing committee for the delivery of these world-class Games.”
