2017 Canada Summer Games – Canada Games ball boy to receive a surprise visit from athletes at his AAA ball game
Members of the media are invited to take a front-row seat when 2017 Canada Summer Games athletes step off a bus to cheer on 11-year old Luca Fais, a promising young baseball player who volunteered as a ball boy for Team Newfoundland and Labrador this past week at the Games.

Luca, who is competing in the AAA PeeWee Provincials tomorrow at 1:30 p.m at Optimist Park, struck up a friendship with the athletes over the course of the 2017 Canada Summer Games Baseball tournament. He mentioned to the athletes that his team was competing this weekend, and they decided to surprise him.

The team’s biggest challenge was finding a way to get to Optimist park, which is over 30 km away from the Athletes Village. When True Sport got wind of their plans, the non-profit dedicated to the notion that good sport can make a great difference offered to sponsor the cost of their transportation.

Come meet the young people behind this good sport story that truly represents the Canada Games spirit!
