Softball Canada – (Santo Domingo, D.R.) The Canadian Women’s National Softball Team is set to compete at the IX Pan American Women’s Softball Championship in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic over the next week (August 4-13). Team Canada will start the event with a game against the Bahamas at 12:00pm EDT today.

The event will feature a total of eighteen teams from the WBSC Americas region, divided into two sections of nine teams. Canada’s section includes the Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guyana, Mexico and Panama.

This event will serve as a qualifier for the 2018 WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship in Japan and the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru, with the Top 5 teams earning berths to those events.
