Ringette Canada – It’s that time of year again. Canada’s best ringette athletes will be soon travelling to London, Ontario for the 2016 Canadian Ringette Championships. I wanted to touch base with some information on the event and encourage you to take a closer look at the athletes from your area as they compete in the highest level of national play for our sport.

I will be onsite in London throughout the event and will be sending daily updates. If you do not wish to receive these updates, please let me know and I will remove you from my event update list. If you need something specific throughout the week (i.e., photos, interviews with athletes or coaches), please let me know and I will coordinate things for you.

Here’s what’s on tap. A total of 48 teams from across the country will compete in three divisions – U16, U19 and the National Ringette League (NRL – 19+). There will be 20 teams in the U16 division, 20 teams in the U19 division and eight teams in the NRL division. Opening ceremonies will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, games start Monday morning and finals will be held on Saturday, April 9th.

Games will take place at the Western Fair Sports Centre and Nichols Recreation Centre. The finals will be held at Western Fair. Competition in all divisions starts on Monday, April 4th and finals in all three divisions take place on Saturday, April 9th (U19 at 10:00, U16 at 13:30 and NRL at 14:30). All-stars and the NRL Annual Awards will be announced at the closing award ceremony on Saturday night.

Our stats system holds all the information you will need to follow the event. Within the system you can access information such as rosters, schedules, standings and stats. Direct links to the various divisions are as follows:

Please note that the NRL division stats will be posted on our National Ringette League website. As well as NRL Championship information, the NRL website has information on regular season play as well as previous season stats.

To assist you in following all the action in London, we have developed a comprehensive outreach program. Here’s what we have planned:
