Taekwondo Canada  – (Ottawa, Canada) Taekwondo Canada is pleased to announce that Dr. Terry DeFreitas has joined Taekwondo Canada as Chief Medical Advisor. Dr. Terry DeFreitas will be responsible for the monitoring and care of our high performance athletes as well as for overseeing the medical needs for all of Taekwondo Canada’s national and international events.

A long time taekwondo practitioner herself, Dr. Terry DeFreitas had previously worked with Taekwondo Canada for many years and is currently an assistant professor in the faculty of medicine and dentistry at the University of Alberta. She has extensive clinical experience including being the Chief Medical Advisor for FC Edmonton professional soccer and CJFL Huskies football team. Dr. Terry DeFreitas is the director of sport medicine services at the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic, now one of the largest interdisciplinary sport medicine clinics in Canada. With over 16 years’ experience in family medicine, rural emergency, and acute hospital care, Dr. DeFreitas has a wide breadth of clinical expertise。
