Swimming Canada –Top Swims Continue for NS Swimmers at the Canadian Swimming Trials

Edmonton (AB)- Halifax Trojan swimmers Danial Murphy and Sarah Polley, along with Dartmouth Crusader Brett Liem earned themselves second swims during day four of competition at the Canadian Swimming Trials in Edmonton. 

Murphy finished 4th in the Para Multi Class 50m Butterfly with a time of 52.30; teammate Sarah Polley finished 13th in the Women’s 50m Freestyle in a 26.55 and 13th in the Women’s 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:17.06.

Dartmouth Crusader swimmer Brett Liem finished 17th in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 23.73.

This is Swimming Canada’s flagship event of this year’s swimming season, with Canada’s best swimmers racing to represent the country at the Pan Pacific Championships this summer in Tokyo and the Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships in Cairns, Australia.

In total, approximately 400 swimmers from 105 clubs are competing from across Canada with visiting competitors from France, Peru, Thailand, Singapore, Scotland and the United States.

Prelims begin at 10:00am and finals begin at 6:00pm local time daily. Competition wraps up tomorrow at the Kinsmen Sports Centre.
