Nova Scotia Golf Association – It was another beautiful day for the final round of the 2016 Men’s Four Ball Championship at the Paragon Golf and Country Club. Ashburn’s Sean Stuart and Chris Evans (NSPPC) played steady golf during the 36-hole competition and fired back-to-back four under par 67’s to capture their first Provincial Men’s Four Ball championship. The duo dominated the back nine with a combined eight birdies and one eagle over the weekend.

The defending champions Tom Cameron (Gage Golf & Curling Club) and Wayne O’Donnell (Oakfield) shot a one over 72 in the final round. Cameron and O’ Donnell led after the first round but carded a one over par 72 on day two to finish with a two round total of 138, which left them in second place overall.

The teams of Ryan Dixon and Jody Swim from River Hills and Lee MacIntosh (NSPPC) and Brent MacIntyre (Ashburn) finished tied for third place in the first division. Both teams finished with two round totals of 139.

DIVISION 2:

Lorne McMullen and Paul Arsenault won Second Division. The Paragon members had five birdies to finish today one under par (70). The team finished with an even par two day total of 142.

Bruce Horne and Glen MacLean from the Abercrombie Golf Club carded a two day total of 147 which was good enough for second place in the second division. The highlight of their round came when they eagle the 348 yard par 4 sixth hole.

The team of Bill King and Jeff Sutherland from Fox Hollow and Wayne Graves (Paragon) and Mike Graves (Ken-Wo) finished tied after both team finished with a two round total of 148.

DIVISION 3:

Sandy Herrick, Eagle Crest, and Dennis Jordan, Paragon tied for first in Third Division with fellow competitors Doug Carpenter and Scott Cooper from the Greenwood Golf Club. The two teams finished with a two-day total of 152 and Carpenter and Cooper took the top spot in the third division through retrogression.

The home course team of Morley Reid and Bob McKenzie finished in third after with a two-day total of 155.
