Squash Canada – OTTAWA, ON, August 8, 2017 – Squash Canada is excited to announce a number of host clubs for both 2018 and 2019 national championships.

The eight different Canadian National Championships are the highlight of the Canadian squash season for over 1,200 players – for many bookmarking the end of another exciting competitive season for athletes and clubs across the country.

In keeping with tradition, Squash Canada’s national championships are designed to give a stage to players across Canada, to showcase the very best of the game in our country, and crown the newest Canadian champions. As the national body, Squash Canada is proud to see clubs from coast-to-coast come forward to take on hosting roles and provide a top-notch experience to players, coaches, and fans alike.

Many of the selected clubs for the 2018 and 2019 events have a history of executing past championships that have thrilled the Squash community, and will look to do so again over the next two years.

With the first 2018 major event less than six-months away, the anticipation is already rapidly growing.

“2018 and 2019 are shaping up to be cornerstone years for our game,” said Squash Canada Executive Director, Dan Wolfenden. “We feel this collection of hosts are some of the very best across the nation. Receiving commitments for both years highlights the excitement and passion for hosting major events and a commitment to provide exceptional experiences.”

The first group of confirmed hosts will have the squash community competing in clubs from coast-tocoast.

2018 National Championships:

  • Canadian Masters Team Championships – Moncton Squash Club [Moncton, NB] January 12-14, 2018
  • Canadian Mixed Doubles Championships – Mayfair Clubs Parkway [Markham, ON] March 23-25, 2018
  • Canadian Doubles Championships – Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club [Vancouver, BC] April 13-15, 2018
  • Canadian Junior Championships – Mayfair Clubs Lakeshore [Toronto, ON] April 19-22, 2018
  • Canadian Squash Championships – The Glencoe Club [Calgary, AB] May 1-5, 2018 2019

  • Canadian Masters Team Championships – Squash Outaouais (La Sportheque) [Gatineau, QC] Dates to be confirmed
  • Canadian Squash Championships – Mayfair Clubs Lakeshore [Toronto, ON] April 30 – May 4, 2019

 

Squash Canada will be announcing the final group of host clubs for the remaining 2018 and 2019 National Championships in the following weeks.
