February 25, 2021 – The Sport Law & Strategy Group (SLSG) is committed to sharing relevant knowledge to sport leaders using a variety of mediums including newsletters, webinars, workshops, keynotes, educational sessions, and blogs.
How are we walking the talk with respect to our equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) commitments? What are the risks if sport doesn’t move towards more inclusive approaches? What do our policies commit us to and how do we know we are fully fulfilling our promises? The SLSG has been hosting dozens of conversations on these topics and more in support of more inclusive sport.
Sport Lawyer and EDI specialist, Melissa Knox, shares her opinion of Black History Month and encourages everyone to become more aware to the many opportunities to become more informed about culturally competent and humble ways to carry out our work. She explores how the SLSG makes space for EDI practices while encouraging other Canadian organizations to work together to make sport a more open space for everyone to enjoy. Melissa mentions a few remaining events that anyone can participate in to support Black History Month to become more informed and aware as leaders.
