Sport and culture go hand in hand at the 2017 Games!
2017 Canada Summer Games – WINNIPEG (July 29, 2017) – Serena Ryder, Kardinal Official, Attica Riots and other Canadian artists will be taking the stage tonight to kick off the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Canada Games Festival. Athletes and visitors looking to unwind after a day of competition are invited to gather at the Forks, a historic site where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet, to take in the major cultural celebration that will run through 11 nights from July 29 to August 12 at The Forks. The festival is free, easily accessible, and open to the public. It all starts today at 4:30 p.m. and ends with fireworks at 10:30 p.m.
“This week’s Festival will be a major birthday party to celebrate the Canada Games’ 50th anniversary. We’re very proud of the stellar line-up that our team – led by Festival Producer Jason Smith – has put together,” said Jeff Hnatiuk, President and CEO of the 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society. “We are grateful for the support of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, legacy partner of the Games and presenting sponsor of the Festival. ”
