Softball Ontario – SOFTBALL ONTARIO WELCOMES NEW PROGRAM COORDINATORTORONTO, ON – Upon completing an extensive search, Softball Ontario is pleased to announce that Sami Sherry will be joining the team of professional staff – taking on the role as Program Coordinator of the Umpire Program.

Sami graduated from the Bachelor of Commerce, Sport Administration program with Honours at Laurentian University. In addition to her education, Sami brings experience from both the professional sport sector (intern with the Ottawa Senators) and most recently in the amateur sport sector where she interned and was then hired on by Sail Canada as a Program Administrator.

After having the opportunity to meet her on a couple of occasions during the selection process and hearing her passion for sport, the decision to hire Sami was easy.” said Andrew Backer – Executive Director. “I have no doubt that Sami will exceed expectations in her new role and will take the position to the next level. We are excited to welcome her to the team.”

While the decision to hire Sami was not difficult, it was very encouraging to see so many qualified candidates apply for this role with many making the interview stage. It is fantastic to see the increasing interest in sport administration as a career choice,” said Backer.

Sami joins the Softball Ontario team on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016. While her first few days will be full of in-office orientation, Sami is very excited to reach out and start working with the committee personnel in short order.
