Synchro Canada – OTTAWA, July 22, 2017 – Canada’s final entry in synchronized swimming at the 2017 FINA World Championships was the Mixed Duet of Isabelle Blanchet-Rampling, 31, and Robert Prévost, 37. The two completed their first world championships as a duo, scoring 83.5667 for a sixth-place finish in the Mixed Duet Free Routine. Russia took the gold medal, followed by Italy and the USA at the event in Budapest, Hungary.

The two improved on their score from the Prelims and really loved performing on the world stage. “This program is our baby and we love it,” said Rampling. “The music is a traditional piece, it has a very abstract manner. We tried to present our ideas, which were selected altogether with our choreographer, who is very much inspired by this artist, Pina Bausch.”

“We started to practice this program in January, and it came together really in the last couple of weeks, but it’s our favourite. It has a lot of intriguing things, which we really tried to present,” she added.

Rampling, on behalf of the two also thanked the organizing commitee, staff and volunteers for a fabulous experience at the world championship. “Wow, this is among the best places ever, in terms of staff, or just the venue, it’s all incredible and it means a lot to us.”
