Nova Scotia Golf Association – Day two at the 2016 Men’s Mid- Amateur at the Antigonish Golf Club was demanding. The conditions were tough and scores were higher than day one. It will come down to the wire after things tightened up on day two. Heavy downpours caused an hour rain delay for seven of the final groups.

Sean Stuart was one over on the day and remains in the lead. “It was great to end on a high note,” Stuart told the NSGA after his round. Stuart is currently two under after thirty-six holes. His success off the tee continued through day two.

Geoff Campbell started the day in third and now sits in second. Campbell shot even par, 72, and that is the lowest score on day two. His round included nine pars on the front nine, followed by back-to-back birdies on holes 10 & 11. Campbell’s steady play has him at one under after day two.

David Williamson slid one spot after a hard fought battle on day two. Williamson’s four birdies helped him stay alive after a four over, 76 on day two. He is four under on the par 5’s with four birdies. David is two over after thirty- six holes. Williamson and Sean Stuart are leading the tournament with eight birdies apiece.

Three players and an alternate are competing for a spot on the team that will represent Nova Scotia at the Men’s Mid- Amateur Championship which is being held at the Golf Chateau- Bromont in Bromont Quebec on August 23-26.

Action starts again at 7:30am at the Antigonish Golf & Country Club.
