MAY 01, 2023: Canada’s men’s and women’s sitting volleyball teams are ready for the opportunity to earn a spot in the 2024 Paralympic Games next week in Edmonton, Alberta.

At this Zonal Championship, held May 9 to 13 at the Saville Community Sports Centre, the winner of the men’s competition will receive the berth, and the highest placed non-qualified team women’s team (either Canada or the U.S) will take the coveted spot at Paris 2024.

Iran (men) and Brazil (women) have already qualified by winning the 2022 World Championships. Brazil defeated Canada’s women’s team at the 2022 World Championship for the gold.

In Edmonton, participating women’s teams are: Canada, United States and Brazil; men’s teams: Canada, United States, Brazil and Argentina.
