CWHL – TORONTO, Ont. – The 2016-17 season will mark the 10th season for the Canadian Women’s Hockey League as the league unveiled its heritage game schedule and 10 Year logo along with the full schedule Thursday. Season tickets for the milestone 2016-17 season are now on sale.
 
Opening weekend is set for Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16, with the Boston Blades traveling to Toronto for a two-game series against the Toronto Furies and the Brampton Thunder playing host to Montreal for a series against Les Canadiennes. Reigning Clarkson Cup champions Calgary Inferno will open their season at home October 22, when they take on playoff opponents, the Brampton Thunder.

2016-17 CWHL SCHEDULE

Fans can grab season tickets, good for the 12 home games of their favourite CWHL team, for $150, a $30 savings over the single-game ticket price of $15. Season tickets are available online at www.CWHL.ca. Single-game tickets will go on sale following the CWHL Draft taking place on Sunday, August 21st.

To celebrate a decade of bringing the best in the women’s game to the ice, all 5 CWHL teams will host a Heritage Game, honouring team alumni and those who have contributed to the growth of their team and the league over the past 10 years.
 
A series of special features will also be hosted on CWHL.ca over the course of the year, retelling the stories of the league as well as providing fans with a behind the scenes look at the league’s growth and evolution from its founding to today.

The 2016-17 CWHL season will feature the return of the CWHL Draft (August 21), Rinks to Links Golf Tournament (August 22), CWHL All-Star Game (January 2017) and the Clarkson Cup (March 2017) as well as numerous community initiatives in partnership with Start the Spark and You Can Play.
