The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and the Provincial and Territorial Coaching Representatives (PTCRs) are proud to present the 4th annual National Coaches Week, September 22 – 30, 2018.

With events held across the country to celebrate coaches, National #CoachesWeek provides them with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring Canadians live an active, healthy lifestyle.  “From grassroots to high performance levels, coaches continue to play a vital role in our communities,” says Lorraine Lafrenière, CEO of the Coaching Association of Canada. “I encourage athletes at all levels of play to take a moment this week to thank a coach who has contributed to being their best both on and off the field of play.”

An advocate of quality coaching, and the positive impact that it has on the athlete experience, the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, urges Canadians to join in on the celebration.

“As an athlete and a coach, I experienced first-hand the power of great coaching. Coaches are a source of motivation, encouragement and support to athletes of all ages,” says Minister Duncan. “Their influence doesn’t stop at the rink, at the track or on the court. They also teach important lessons that follow athletes for the rest of their lives. This National Coaches Week, take the opportunity to say #ThanksCoach!”
